lcp founder, David Schellinger, was the lead designer whole working with SMWM, for the wayfinding and signage for the new home of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in the heart of the City's re-envisioned Civic Center. The scope for the project began with an exploration of a rebranded look and feel for the Conservatory itself, which carried through into a very classic and elegant design for the base building and donor signage throughout the buildings. The resulting project includes displays highlighting the historic features of the building as well as two large scale donor signs that are designed more as art pieces that are integral to the architecture of the building, one with a series of etched donor names running up a larger three story glass art wall within the open atrium staircase, and a second designed as a series of brightly colored tuning bars the grow and change as donors get added to the campaign over time.
